Eko Hot Blog gathered that through his private security outfit, Iru Ekun Private Security Limited, Igboho formally expressed interest in partnering with the state government to provide additional protection for schools across Oyo State.

In a letter dated June 9, 2026, and addressed to the Commissioner for Education, with a copy sent to Governor Seyi Makinde, the organisation requested information on public schools and their locations to facilitate the proposed security deployment.

The initiative comes weeks after gunmen reportedly abducted pupils and teachers during attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area, an incident that heightened fears about the safety of students and education workers.
According to the proposal, the security outfit plans to deploy at least two trained personnel to each identified public school.
Their responsibilities would include monitoring school premises, controlling access points, collaborating with school authorities and community security groups, and helping to prevent criminal incursions.
Igboho and the outfit’s legal adviser, Junaid Sanusi, who jointly endorsed the proposal, said the initiative reflects their commitment to supporting government efforts aimed at safeguarding schools and protecting children.
The group also recommended that the state government consider fencing public schools to improve security and make surveillance more effective.

While acknowledging the efforts of the state government and security agencies in addressing recent kidnapping incidents, the organisation stressed the importance of preventive measures to reduce future security threats.
It maintained that early deployment of security personnel and improved infrastructure could help create a safer learning environment for pupils, teachers, and other school workers.
The security outfit further expressed readiness to work with relevant government agencies, including the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), school administrators, and community leaders to develop sustainable security solutions for schools across the state.
The proposal follows growing calls for stronger protection of educational institutions after the abduction of pupils and teachers during attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area in May.
