- The Edo North senator predicted changes after the 2027 elections.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District, has claimed that many members of the 10th National Assembly are dissatisfied with the leadership style of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Oshiomhole made the assertion during an appearance on the Mic On podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, while responding to a question about whether he had become a political threat to the Senate President.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the former Edo State governor alleged that Akpabio is overly suspicious of his activities and believes he would remove him from the Senate if he had the opportunity.
According to Oshiomhole, the issue extends beyond his personal relationship with the Senate President, insisting that several lawmakers have privately expressed concerns over Akpabio’s approach to leadership.
“He (Akpabio) is paranoid about everything that has to do with me. Everybody in the Senate knows that if Akpabio has his way, he will lock me out of the Senate because he has misled himself into thinking that I’m probably the devil he knows,” Oshiomhole said.
The lawmaker argued that there are deeper issues within the Senate than many people realise and suggested that the current Senate leadership could face stronger opposition in the future.
“However, there are many agents he doesn’t know, and the 11th Senate will not be the 10th Senate. This I can say, senators are groveling about his style of leadership,” he added.
Oshiomhole further predicted that the composition and dynamics of the National Assembly could change significantly after the 2027 general elections, resulting in a different political environment from what currently exists in the Senate.
His remarks come amid growing political discussions surrounding the leadership of the National Assembly and the relationship between senior lawmakers within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Neither Akpabio nor the Senate leadership had publicly responded to Oshiomhole’s comments as of the time of filing this report.
