A representative of the former First Lady of Lagos State, Bolanle Ambode, has commended the Epe Division Professional Women Association (EPWA) for its commitment to women empowerment and community development, describing women as critical catalysts for sustainable leadership and societal growth.

The event brought together traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, professionals, and stakeholders to celebrate distinguished women and promote inclusive development.

In her address, the representative expressed appreciation to EPWA for identifying and celebrating women whose contributions to society often go unrecognized, noting that such recognition helps to encourage service, leadership, and social responsibility.
She particularly commended the President of EPWA, Folakemi Oluyemi, for her vision, dedication, and consistent efforts in advancing the cause of women, girls, and widows across communities.
According to her, EPWA’s work in empowerment, mentorship, education support, and community engagement reflects the kind of leadership needed to strengthen families and promote sustainable development.
She also acknowledged the contributions of the association’s executive committee, board of trustees, traditional rulers, government officials, and other stakeholders who supported the success of the event.

Speaking further on the theme, she emphasized that women play a central role in driving community progress, adding that societies thrive when women are actively involved in leadership, governance, and development processes.
She urged stakeholders to continue creating opportunities that promote education, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and leadership development, stressing that empowering women and young people remains essential for long-term national growth.
The address concluded with a call for sustained commitment to community service and women empowerment, as she reaffirmed support for EPWA’s mission of building stronger and more inclusive communities across Epe Division and beyond.
