- A suspected militant has threatened fresh attacks on Bachama communities in Adamawa State
- The threat was made in a viral video circulating on social media
- The allegations against the deputy governor remain unverified
Fresh security concerns have emerged in Adamawa State after a man believed to be a militant issued threats of coordinated attacks against Bachama communities in Lamurde Local Government Area.
In a video widely shared on social media, Eko Hot Blog gathered that the man, who claimed to represent the Chobo ethnic group, announced that his group had adopted what he described as a “night mode operation” to target villages under the cover of darkness.
He warned that the planned attacks would result in widespread violence, bloodshed and mourning across Bachama communities.
The speaker, who also identified himself as a pastor, compared the Chobo ethnic group to Israel, insisting that the community would prevail despite being smaller in number.
The threats come against the backdrop of a prolonged communal dispute between the Chobo and Bachama communities in Lamurde LGA.

The conflict, largely linked to land ownership and longstanding communal disagreements, has claimed lives, displaced residents and destroyed property over the past year.
Although government authorities and community leaders have initiated several peace efforts, tensions have continued to flare up periodically.
In the same video, the suspected militant accused Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, of supporting Bachama fighters and escalating the crisis.
However, no evidence was presented to support the allegations, and the claims had not been independently verified at the time of filing this report
