FC Barcelona have announced a contract extension for Danish defender Andreas Christensen, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2028.
The Spanish champions confirmed the agreement in a statement on Wednesday, extending the centre back’s stay after his previous contract expired at the end of June.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to reports in Spain, Christensen agreed to a significant pay cut to remain with Barcelona.
Confirming the extension, the club said:
“FC Barcelona and Andreas Christensen have reached an agreement for the extension of the Danish defender’s contract, keeping him at the club until 30 June 2028.”
The 30 year old joined Barcelona from Chelsea F.C. in 2022 and played a crucial role during his debut season as the Catalan club secured the La Liga title.
Although injuries have limited his appearances during his time at Camp Nou, Christensen has remained an important member of the squad whenever available.
Since arriving in Spain, the Denmark international has made 98 appearances for Barcelona and has helped the club win three La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey and other domestic honours.

The new agreement ensures Christensen will continue his career with Barcelona as the club looks to build on its recent domestic success in the coming seasons.
