Cape Verde manager Bubista says his team is not intimidated by the prospect of facing defending champions Argentina and believes the Blue Sharks can continue their remarkable World Cup journey with another surprise result.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that making their first appearance at the FIFA World Cup, Cape Verde have exceeded expectations by progressing to the knockout stage. They opened their campaign with an impressive draw against Spain before defeating Uruguay to secure a place in the Round of 32.

Their next challenge is an Argentina side that advanced through the group stage with maximum points and is once again among the favourites to win the tournament, with Lionel Messi leading the team.

Even so, Bubista remains optimistic about his players’ chances.
He said reaching the knockout rounds is already a landmark achievement for Cape Verde but insisted the team is determined to go even further.
The coach noted that his players would treat Argentina with respect while maintaining the same fearless approach they have shown throughout the competition.
According to him, the excitement of facing one of the world’s strongest teams will not stop his side from competing with confidence once the match begins.
Bubista also welcomed the opportunity to come up against Messi, describing it as a memorable occasion for the squad.

He said the Argentine captain is widely regarded as one of football’s greatest players, but stressed that Cape Verde would stay true to its style of play, relying on discipline, teamwork and determination.
The Round of 32 clash between Cape Verde and Argentina is scheduled to take place in Miami on Friday, with kickoff set for 11:00 p.m. Nigerian time.
