Anthony Joshua produced a remarkable comeback to stop unbeaten Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in the second round of an emotional return to the ring in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, after surviving two knockdowns in the opening round.

Joshua’s return got off to a nightmare start when Prenga landed a powerful uppercut just 20 seconds into the contest, sending the British boxer to the canvas. The underdog struck again later in the opening round, dropping Joshua for a second time and leaving the crowd stunned.
The early setbacks sparked fears of a major upset, with Joshua appearing in danger of suffering one of the biggest defeats of his professional career.
However, the 36-year-old regrouped impressively after the break. He began the second round with renewed aggression and gradually took control as Prenga retreated instead of pressing his advantage.

Speaking after the fight, an emotional Joshua dedicated the win to his late friends.

Joshua later admitted the past several months had been extremely difficult, describing the victory as one driven by emotion and resilience.
The boxer entered the arena wearing the names of Ghami and Ayodele on his outfit, while the ring canvas also carried a tribute bearing the words, “My Brother’s Keeper.”
Attention has now turned to a long-anticipated showdown with fellow British heavyweight Tyson Fury. Although Fury did not attend the event despite speculation, Joshua expressed respect for his rival and said he hoped fans would eventually witness the blockbuster contest.

Joshua’s victory marked his 27th professional knockout and ended Prenga’s unbeaten record, handing the Albanian only the second defeat of his career.
