The Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has reinforced its commitment to safeguarding lives and property with the commissioning of a newly constructed and fully equipped Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Divisional Headquarters in Odo-Ayandelu.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the landmark project, delivered by the administration of the Executive Chairman, Akogun Wale Anomo, was officially commissioned by the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, in the presence of traditional rulers, government officials, security chiefs, political stakeholders, and residents from across the council area.
Beyond constructing the modern security facility, the council ensured that all offices within the headquarters were fully furnished and equipped with the necessary office facilities, making the command immediately operational. The state-of-the-art headquarters provides a conducive working environment for officers while improving the efficiency of security operations within the area.
To further strengthen the operational capacity of the NSCDC, Chairman Anomo also donated a patrol vehicle and a motorcycle to the command to enhance mobility, improve emergency response, and increase surveillance across Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and neighbouring communities.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Anomo described security as the foundation upon which sustainable development is built, noting that his administration remains committed to providing the necessary support for security agencies.
“This project is a demonstration of our unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property. We believe that when security agencies are adequately equipped, they can effectively carry out their constitutional responsibilities and create an enabling environment for growth and investment,” he said.
According to the chairman, the newly commissioned divisional headquarters will not only serve communities within Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA but will also extend security coverage to neighbouring communities in Ogun State due to the strategic location of the council.
He explained that residents from Agbowa through Odo-Ayandelu, Owu-Ikosi, Temu and adjoining communities would benefit immensely from improved security presence, faster emergency response, and enhanced intelligence gathering.
Anomo further disclosed that the commissioning of the NSCDC headquarters is one of several developmental projects lined up by his administration.
“We are not stopping here. Very soon, we will be commissioning the newly completed Primary Health Centre at Temu, the road project at Owu-Ikosi, and several other impactful projects aimed at improving the quality of life of our people,” he stated.
The Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, commended the council chairman for investing in both security infrastructure and operational logistics.
“This divisional headquarters, together with the patrol vehicle and motorcycle donated today, will greatly enhance our operational effectiveness. It will improve our response time, strengthen intelligence gathering, and enable us to serve the people better,” he said.
He assured residents that the NSCDC would continue to work closely with communities to protect critical national assets, maintain public safety, and combat criminal activities.
The Paramount Ruler of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom, HRM Oba (Bldr.) Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe, FNIOB, described the project as a historic achievement for the kingdom and applauded the council chairman for prioritising the welfare and security of the people.
The monarch urged young people to remain focused and law-abiding, warning against violence and criminal activities.
“Our youths should enjoy their lives, pursue legitimate means of livelihood and contribute positively to society, but they must stay away from violence and any act that could bring them into conflict with the law,” the royal father advised.
The event featured the symbolic commissioning of the headquarters, inspection of the fully furnished offices, presentation of the patrol vehicle and motorcycle, goodwill messages from dignitaries, and prayers for continued peace and security.
Residents hailed the project as a major boost to security, expressing confidence that the new divisional headquarters would strengthen collaboration between security agencies and local communities while promoting peace, protecting investments, and fostering socio-economic development across Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and neighbouring communities in Ogun State.
