Dutch giants Ajax have completed the signing of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen on a season long loan for the 2026/27 campaign.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ajax confirmed the deal on Tuesday, announcing that an agreement had been reached with Barcelona and the experienced Germany international.
“Ajax has reached an agreement with Barcelona and Marc ter Stegen,” the Eredivisie club said in a statement.
The 34 year old goalkeeper has been with Barcelona since joining the Spanish club in 2014 and has enjoyed a trophy laden spell at the Camp Nou.
However, the veteran shot stopper has struggled with injury problems over the past two seasons, limiting his appearances for both club and country.
With Joan Garcia firmly established as Barcelona’s first choice goalkeeper, Ter Stegen was loaned to Girona in January in search of regular playing time.
His spell at Girona was cut short after he suffered a hamstring injury during his second appearance for the club in February, an injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
The injury also saw the Germany international miss selection for his country’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
