Speaking during the visit, Giwa Moshood Olasupo expressed appreciation to the monarch for receiving the delegation, describing the engagement as an important step towards building meaningful relationships with traditional institutions and other critical stakeholders across Epe Division.
He explained that THEDSF was established by progressive-minded youths and stakeholders in Epe Division with a focus on political awareness, voter education, civic responsibility, and grassroots participation ahead of the forthcoming elections.
According to him, the group is particularly interested in encouraging young people to become more involved in governance and democratic processes while supporting the political aspirations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC Lagos State governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.
Giwa said, “We believe that meaningful political participation begins with proper engagement, voter education and community sensitisation. Our youths must understand that their voices and participation matter in determining the future of our communities and our country.”
He further assured the monarch that THEDSF would pursue its activities peacefully and responsibly, while promoting unity, democratic values, and constructive political engagement across the division.
Responding, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Ogunsanwo, warmly welcomed the delegation and commended THEDSF for taking the initiative to consult traditional institutions and community stakeholders ahead of its formal inauguration.
The monarch emphasised the importance of youth participation in governance, noting that young people have a significant role to play in shaping the future of their communities and the country.

He said, “Youth participation in politics is important to the development of our society. I encourage you to remain focused, disciplined and peaceful in all your engagements.”
The monarch also stressed the need for responsible political conduct, urging political groups and young people to shun actions capable of creating division or disrupting the peace of communities.
He commended the group’s emphasis on political enlightenment and grassroots engagement, describing constructive youth participation as a positive contribution to democratic development.
Oba Ogunsanwo further encouraged THEDSF to maintain respectful relationships with traditional institutions, community leaders, and other stakeholders as it expands its activities across Epe Division.
The royal father offered prayers and royal blessings for the success of the group’s activities, while calling on its members to remain ambassadors of peace, unity, and progress.
The visit concluded with prayers for the continued peace and development of Ilara Kingdom, Epe Division, Lagos State, and Nigeria.
The engagement marks another step in THEDSF’s ongoing consultation tour as the group continues to engage royal fathers, political leaders, youth stakeholders, and community leaders ahead of its formal inauguration and planned grassroots activities.
