The Students’ Union Government of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), has given a 24-hour ultimatum to security agencies and the Ondo State Government following the brutal killing of students in the Akungba community.
Eko hot blog union condemned the killings as “gruesome and incessant”, saying they can no longer tolerate the loss of their members in what appears to be targeted violence by individuals in the host community.

According to a statement signed by the SUG President, Salami Akeem (popularly known as Ologbon), the most recent case involved a female student allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, who is now on the run. He was said to have locked the corpse in his room for days before it was discovered.
“It was discovered that the student was gruesomely murdered, stabbed to death and left to rot in the room by her boyfriend for more than three days,” the union said. “The discovery came after neighbours noticed a strange odour and broke down the door.”
Reports say the suspect’s mother has been arrested, while the boyfriend remains at large.

The union also recalled earlier incidents where two students were kidnapped and later found murdered. Investigations reportedly revealed that the suspects were from the Akungba community itself.
“We received the first shocking news of two students who were gruesomely murdered. The primary suspects of the crime are indigenes,” the union said.
It noted that despite earlier engagements with the police and community leaders, the killings have persisted.
In reaction, the union has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the police, Ondo State Government, and relevant authorities to ensure justice is served and the killers arrested, or face “a full-blown confrontation.”
“If the perpetrators are not brought to book within the ultimatum, the Students’ Union Body will not hesitate to mobilise for mass protest to end these killings once and for all,” the statement warned.
The letter was copied to the Ondo State Government, Inspector General of Police, Ondo Commissioner of Police, Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigerian Bar Association.
