Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the national leadership of the Accord Party have thrown their support behind President Bola Tinubu as the party’s preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the endorsement was announced after a meeting held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, involving Governor Adeleke and top officials of the party.

A statement issued by the spokesperson for Adeleke’s re-election campaign, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said the gathering reviewed issues affecting the party and discussed preparations for future political contests.
During the meeting, the party’s leadership expressed support for the continuation of major federal infrastructure projects initiated by the Tinubu administration, saying they should be completed to maximise their economic benefits.
Among the projects mentioned were the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, which the party described as critical to national development.
By endorsing Tinubu, the Accord Party signalled its intention to back the President’s re-election bid in the 2027 general election.
The meeting also focused on the upcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August.
Party leaders appealed for a peaceful electoral process, urging stakeholders to reject violence, intimidation and any form of electoral malpractice.
They also raised concerns over what they described as the possible use of security agencies to intimidate opposition members and supporters, calling on authorities to ensure a level playing field for all contestants.
The Accord leadership insisted that every political party should be allowed to campaign and participate freely without fear of harassment.
Those present at the meeting included the party’s National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; and National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph.
State chairmen of the Accord Party from across the country also attended the meeting.
