EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement issued in Owerri by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Kingsley Onochie, the party insisted that it remains neutral and would only support any candidate who emerges from its presidential primaries.
Onochie criticised the media reports linking Imo ADC with Obi, saying such claims were false and misleading. He stated clearly that “once a candidate emerges at the primaries, he would enjoy our support.”
He also assured Nigerians that the ADC was working to ensure a peaceful and credible presidential primary process, and that its leadership under James Okoroma was gaining traction as members from other major parties such as the PDP, APC, and Labour Party are reportedly decamping to ADC in large numbers.
In a related development, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed optimism about the opposition coalition led by ADC, declaring that it would remove the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power by 2027.
Speaking through his representative, Prof Bayode Fakunle, during the inauguration of the Ekiti State ADC Executive Council, Atiku said the party’s influence has grown significantly within weeks of its relaunch.
“ADC is now the most dominant party in the country,” Atiku said. “It is for all Nigerians, and by God’s grace, it will take over the country’s leadership in 2027.”

He also hinted at a possible presidential run, as speculations grow that he may seek ADC’s ticket.
