The Presidency has dismissed as false a viral video claiming that a chef working at the Presidential Villa was arrested over an alleged attempt to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the video, which circulated widely on social media over the weekend, alleged that security operatives apprehended a member of the presidential kitchen staff following intelligence reports of suspicious activities related to food prepared within restricted areas of the Villa.

According to the report shared online, the alleged arrest was based on what it described as credible threats to the President’s safety, prompting an investigation by personnel responsible for protecting the nation’s leadership.
However, reacting to the claim, the Presidency described the video as completely fabricated.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the report was “fake news” and urged the public to disregard it. He stressed that no such incident occurred and warned against the spread of unverified information capable of creating unnecessary fear.

The Presidency advised Nigerians to rely on official communication channels for accurate updates concerning the President and activities within the Presidential Villa.
