EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 33 year old joined United from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 and said his decision to depart was motivated by a desire to begin a new chapter, not by any loss of affection for the club.
Casemiro made the announcement in a video released by Manchester United on Thursday, stressing that the club will always remain close to his heart.
“Manchester United holds a special place in my heart. I’ll always carry this club with me for the rest of my life.
“I’ll always be a Manchester United fan, my whole family, too. It is not a goodbye, it’s just a new chapter in my life, I’ll always be with Manchester United,” he said.
Casemiro’s contract expires in June and the midfielder said he chose to address his future early to avoid prolonged speculation. Although he had previously considered leaving in 2025, he opted to stay and extend his time at the club.
Since his arrival at Old Trafford, Casemiro has made 146 appearances and scored 21 goals for Manchester United, often delivering in key moments. He played a crucial role in the club’s 2023 Carabao Cup victory, scoring in the final against Newcastle United, and was also part of the squad that lifted the Emirates FA Cup in 2024.
His leadership, defensive discipline and ability to score important goals quickly endeared him to supporters.
Fans are expected to pay tribute to the midfielder during United’s final home game of the season against Nottingham Forest.
Despite confirming his departure, Casemiro insisted his focus remains on helping the team until the end of the campaign.
“I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life,” he said. “From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club.
“It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months.

“We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my all to help our club succeed.”
