An aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for Epe Federal Constituency, Ademola Amure, has rejected the outcome of the exercise and called for its cancellation over alleged irregularities.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Amure, who contested for the APC ticket during the weekend primary election, described the process as lacking transparency and urged the party leadership to activate internal dispute resolution mechanisms to address what he termed serious anomalies.

In a statement issued by his media team, the aspirant alleged that the primary election was marred by irregularities in Wards F1, E1, E2 and R1, raising concerns over delegate selection and alleged undue influence on the outcome of the exercise.
According to the statement, the process failed to reflect the genuine wishes of party members and delegates within the constituency.
Amure maintained that the credibility of the primary election had been undermined by procedural flaws, warning that failure to address the grievances could deepen internal discontent within the party.
“It is in furtherance of this that we are appealing to the party’s national leadership to deploy all the mandatory internal dispute resolution mechanisms to address the anomaly and the brazen affront on our collective democratic values,” the statement read.
The aspirant also urged members of the public to disregard reports circulating online declaring winners from what he described as a disputed exercise.
“We call on the general public to disregard the sponsored reports by some individuals claiming victory at the disputed exercise. It is a product of political desperation, hallucination, and a lack of decency and good values,” the statement added.
The APC primary election in Epe has continued to generate reactions among stakeholders, with some party members expressing dissatisfaction over the conduct and outcome of the delegate-based process.

Although party officials are yet to issue an official response to the allegations, sources within the APC insist that the primary election was conducted in line with established party guidelines and that aggrieved aspirants are free to seek redress through internal channels.
Political observers say the development highlights the recurring tensions often associated with party primaries, especially in competitive constituencies where multiple political interests are involved.
The controversy is expected to test the APC’s internal conflict resolution structure as stakeholders await further clarification from the party leadership.
