EKO HOT BLOG reports that Conte’s decision was said to have been communicated to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis about a month ago, with both parties now expected to part ways once the current campaign concludes.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed the development in a post on 𝕏 on Monday, May 19.
Romano wrote: “Antonio Conte has decided to leave Napoli at the end of the season, it’s over. Conte made his decision and informed the president De Laurentiis already one month ago. There will be no exit fee, Conte will leave without severance pay and without any agreement elsewhere.”
Conte’s expected departure would bring an end to a short but impactful spell at the Italian club.
The former Chelsea and Juventus manager arrived in Naples with a reputation for discipline, tactical organisation and immediate transformation, qualities that quickly reflected in the team’s performances.
Napoli viewed his appointment as a major statement of ambition, and under Conte, the club regained consistency and competitiveness at the highest level of Italian football.
One of the biggest highlights of his tenure came when Napoli secured the Serie A title in his first season in charge, a triumph that reinforced his reputation as one of Europe’s elite managers.
The club also lifted the Supercoppa Italiana during his time at the helm, further underlining his immediate impact on the squad.
Despite the success achieved under his leadership, Conte’s imminent exit now leaves uncertainty over Napoli’s long-term sporting direction ahead of next season.

At the time of filing this report, Napoli had yet to issue an official statement regarding the manager’s reported decision, while speculation continues over who could replace him at the club.
