Subtle signs of division are emerging within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kosofe Federal Constituency as Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, the House of Representatives member representing the area, continues to campaign selectively ahead of the July 12 local government elections in Lagos State.
Ekohotblog reports that over the weekend, Hon. Ogbara was seen mobilizing support for APC councillorship candidate Sobanke in the Magodo-Shangisha axis of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

Her street-level engagement drew enthusiastic support from residents and party loyalists alike.
However, her decision to campaign for a councillor in Ikosi-Isheri while remaining silent on the re-election bid of the council’s Chairperson, Princess Samiat Bada, has raised concerns within party circles.
Although Ogbara has publicly endorsed other APC chairmanship candidates, including Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe (Kosofe LG) and Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar (Agboyi-Ketu LCDA), her visible absence from Bada’s campaign trail is being interpreted by some as a calculated move.
“It’s unsettling,” said a senior APC member in Kosofe who preferred not to be named. “You can’t ignore the Chairperson in your own constituency while pushing for her councillor. That sends a clear signal—intentional or not.”
Others speculate that Ogbara’s silence may be linked to the controversies surrounding Bada’s alleged third-term ambition, a move that has stirred debate and dissatisfaction among some party members.

“Ogbara is a tactician. If she’s not standing beside Bada, there’s a reason,” noted another party insider. “She may be distancing herself from the backlash the third-term agenda is generating.”
As election day draws closer, stakeholders are watching to see whether the federal lawmaker will eventually back all APC chairmanship candidates in Kosofe or continue her selective approach.
