Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that forming a coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could strengthen his prospects in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Wednesday, Eko Hot Blog reports that Atiku explained that his renewed ambition differs from previous bids because of a broader alliance involving key figures from multiple political parties.

He noted that the coalition brings together stakeholders from the APC, PDP, and Labour Party, creating what he described as a more organised and inclusive political front.

According to him, the partnership reflects a deliberate realignment of political forces ahead of the next general elections and improves his chances of securing victory.
He also highlighted the mix of experienced politicians and younger figures within the group, suggesting it offers a clear generational transition.
In a separate remark, Atiku described former President Goodluck Jonathan as a well-meaning leader but lacking sufficient experience.
