The 7th Convocation Ceremony of Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, held on Thursday, 30th October 2025, was a day of honour, celebration, and remarkable generosity, as graduating students and their families gathered to witness history.
Eko Hot Blog reports that a total of 148 students received their degrees, with 22 graduating with First-Class honours. Additionally, 21 diploma students from the St. Gregory School of Pastoral Music — affiliated with the University’s Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies — were honoured.

The overall best graduating student, Miss Ifeoluwa Anne Adeyera of the Department of Chemical Sciences, earned an impressive CGPA of 4.90, drawing admiration from guests and academic leaders.
In the highlight of the event, the Chancellor, Mr. Femi Otedola, presented a ₦10 million cash award to Mr. Oghenerukome Emmanuel Otuoniyo, a graduate of Philosophy and Religious Studies, in recognition of his exceptional courage and academic excellence while living with a disability.

The hall erupted in applause as the emotional presentation was made.
Mr. Otedola also gifted every graduand a copy of his newly launched book Making It Big and reaffirmed his financial commitment to the University’s development, presenting a ₦500 million cheque for the continuation of the Lady Doja Otedola Faculty of Engineering building project.
Earlier in the day, a formal contract signing for the building’s second phase took place, involving the Chancellor, the Proprietor and Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, and the project contractor.
The project cost has risen to nearly ₦4 billion due to economic factors, underscoring the significance of Otedola’s renewed pledge.
Adding to the excitement, the newly inaugurated Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Rt. Hon. Dame Winifred Akpani, FCA, KSS, OFR, announced ₦1 million each for the 22 First-Class graduates, praising their exceptional performance and dedication.
Speaking on behalf of the University Proprietor, the Archbishop described the event as a testament to vision, sacrifice, and faith in youth potential.
Mr. Otedola expressed his pride in the graduates, stating,
“Education remains the most powerful tool we can give young people to secure their future.
I believe in rewarding excellence and supporting institutions that shape tomorrow’s leaders.”

The Pro-Chancellor encouraged graduates to uphold excellence, noting,
“You have proven your brilliance through hard work and discipline. Go into the world and distinguish yourselves.”
