Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, commenced its 2025/2026 Students’ Orientation Programme at the University’s Convocation Hall, welcoming newly admitted students into the institution’s academic, spiritual, and social environment.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the two-day orientation programme, themed “Growth and Development: My Core Values as a Student,” is organized by the Student Affairs Office to equip new students with the knowledge and values required to thrive within the University system.

Declaring the event open, the Registrar, Mrs. Margaret Aziba, highlighted the institution’s commitment to character formation alongside academic excellence.
She urged the students to imbibe discipline, integrity, and respect for authority, noting that moral conduct remains a key pillar of the Augustine University culture.

“Education goes beyond books—your character and values will define your success and identity,” she stated.
In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Akinwale, OP, congratulated the students and emphasized the institution’s mission of raising morally upright and intellectually grounded graduates.
He encouraged the students to embrace the University’s core values of truth, unity, and service while pursuing academic excellence.
“You are here not only to earn degrees, but to grow into responsible citizens rooted in knowledge and virtue,” he said.
The programme featured presentations aimed at guiding students on finance, academics, discipline, digital literacy, environmental responsibility, and spiritual growth.

- Mr. Stephen Sanyaolu (Works & Services Department) — Care for Facilities and Environment
- Mr. Adeyinka Oshilalu (Principal Librarian) — Library Services and Information Access
- Rev. Fr. Andrew Toye (Chaplain) — Spiritual Commitment and Academic Success
- Rev. Sr. Rose Bambe — Wellness and Hygiene
- Mrs. Adesomo Babajide — Mutual Respect and Interpersonal Conduct
The Orientation Programme continues on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, with more interactive sessions designed to fully integrate students into the academic and moral life of the University.
