Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and policemen from Ekeki Police Division clashed while trying to arrest a suspected drug dealer.
The incident, which happened at the Ekeki Police Division in Yenagoa, caused panic among residents.

Eyewitnesses said NDLEA officers came to arrest a woman suspected of selling drugs. They followed the rules by reporting their mission at the police station before starting the operation.
However, as the NDLEA officers were working, policemen from the Ekeki Police Division stopped them. This led to a heated argument, and gunshots were fired, scaring people in the area.
The police even deflated the tyres of two NDLEA vehicles to stop them from leaving with the suspect.

NDLEA spokesperson Howells Obah explained that the officers followed proper procedures but faced resistance because the suspect is reportedly the wife of a policeman. He added that the police fired at their vehicles, and they are working to calm the situation.
The Bayelsa State Police spokesperson, Musa Mohammed, confirmed the clash and said he was going to investigate the matter.
