The game was fiercely contested, but Enyimba’s challenge was weakened early in the first half when defender Innocent Gabriel received a red card for a foul on Oke. Despite being a man down, the visitors pushed for an equalizer, making five second-half substitutions, including ex-international Junior Lokosa, Somiari Alalibo, and Chinedu Ufere, but Insurance held firm to secure the win.
After the match, Insurance head coach Greg Ikhenoba described the victory as a perfect birthday gift ahead of his celebration on Thursday. He praised his players’ efforts and vowed continued improvement as the league progresses.
