Canada’s Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Carlos Rojas Arbulú, has praised the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) for organising what he described as a highly impactful diaspora conference in Canada.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Rojas Arbulú said the conference provided a valuable platform for Nigeria and Canada to deepen cooperation, strengthen people to people ties and explore new areas of partnership.

He spoke during a courtesy visit to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa, in Lagos.
The envoy also commended the 15 member NiDEC Planning Committee for successfully coordinating the 3 day conference, which was held across 3 cities in Canada.
According to him, the conference brought together senior government officials from Nigeria and Canada, diaspora professionals, investors and other stakeholders to discuss opportunities for collaboration and development.
Responding, Dabiri Erewa expressed appreciation for the commendation and thanked the Canadian authorities for their support and partnership.
She said the positive feedback showed that the conference had achieved its objectives and assured that NiDCOM would continue working with relevant stakeholders to build on the gains recorded.
Dabiri Erewa said the commission would sustain efforts to strengthen its relationship with Nigerians living abroad while creating more opportunities for investment, collaboration and national development.
She also expressed optimism that the growing partnership between Nigeria and Canada would continue to produce benefits for both countries.
