Troops under Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested a suspected militia member during a security operation in Agasha Village following reports of an attack on a local resident.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by the Acting Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt Ahmad Zubairu.
According to the statement, the operation was launched on March 13, 2026, after security agencies received credible intelligence about an assault on a resident, identified as Shaapera Seeta Michael, in the community.
Troops from the Chief of Army Staff Intervention Battalion XI, deployed under Operation Whirl Stroke, were immediately mobilised to the area to track down the suspected attacker.

Upon arrival, the soldiers reportedly secured the area and carried out a targeted search operation aimed at preventing the suspect from escaping while locating those involved in the attack.
During the operation, the troops arrested a 27 year old suspect identified as Suurnen David Akum, a resident of Agasha Village in Guma Local Government Area.
Security operatives also recovered a locally fabricated rifle from the suspect during the arrest.
Zubairu said the suspect is currently undergoing investigation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
Meanwhile, the Force Commander of the Joint Task Force, Major General Moses Gara, commended the troops for their professionalism and swift response during the operation.
He urged personnel to remain vigilant and sustain ongoing efforts aimed at preventing criminal elements from operating freely within the region.
