Bob Tarner served as the National Coordinator of Nigerian Youth for Atiku and was a two-time aspirant for the Lagos East Senatorial District under the PDP in 2019 and 2020. He also holds the position of State Chairman for the political group, Primrose Today.
In his resignation letter, he expressed deep concern over the state of the party and Nigeria’s political system.
“My resignation is born out of deep reflection and unwavering commitment to my values. The current happenings in our polity and the growing culture of undemocratic practices within the People’s Democratic Party are unacceptable to me,” he stated.
He further criticized the party’s direction, saying it has lost its foundational values and now operates against the interests of the people.
“The PDP has strayed far from its foundational ideals. What we see today is a party consumed by internal contradictions, lacking the will to correct itself or serve the true interest of the people,” Bob Tarner said.
Although he did not reveal his next political step, his resignation has sparked reactions among political stakeholders, especially in Lagos East and Epe, where he has considerable influence.
