The presentation of the ₦100 million forms was conducted by the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, who declared the party’s nomination process officially open.
Faleke’s action follows months of speculation and marks the first major step by the ruling party toward the upcoming primary elections.
According to the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party primaries and the resolution of arising disputes are scheduled to take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026.

The commission has also fixed the main Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027, with official campaigns set to begin in August 2026.
As the political atmosphere in the country intensifies, the early collection of forms by the Tinubu camp is seen by analysts as a move to consolidate the President’s base within the party before the primary window closes.
With governorship and State House of Assembly elections following closely in February 2027, the APC is moving swiftly to align its structures for what promises to be a highly competitive electoral cycle.
