BREAKING: Gov Adeleke Imposes Dusk-to-Dawn Curfew as Ifon-Ilobu Crisis Worsens
- Governor Ademola Adeleke has extended the curfew in Ifon and Ilobu from 6 PM to 6 AM following renewed violence.

Tensions have once again erupted between the Ifon and Ilobu communities in Osun State, prompting Governor Ademola Adeleke to extend a dusk-to-dawn curfew in a bid to restore peace.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the renewed violence, which broke out early Friday morning, has left at least 30 people injured and forced many residents, including women and children, to flee their homes.

The conflict stems from a long-standing land dispute between Ifon in Orolu Local Government Area and Ilobu in Irepodun Local Government Area, which has continued to escalate despite previous government interventions. In response to the latest unrest, Governor Adeleke revised the existing curfew from 10 PM – 4 AM to a stricter 6 PM – 6 AM restriction, effective immediately.
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, conveyed the governor’s deep concern over the resurgence of violence. Governor Adeleke reiterated his commitment to maintaining law and order, warning that anyone found inciting conflict would face severe consequences.
To bolster security, a joint task force comprising the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Police, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has been deployed for continuous surveillance.

In addition, the governor has called for an urgent stakeholders’ meeting involving traditional rulers and community leaders, including the Olufon of Ifon, HRM Oba Peter Oluwole Akinyooye, and the Olobu of Ilobu, HRM Oba Ashiru Olatoye Olaniyan.

The meeting, scheduled for Saturday, aims to explore further resolutions to the crisis.
Governor Adeleke urged all parties involved to embrace peace and coexist harmoniously, emphasizing that the government remains committed to bringing those responsible for the violence to justice. To reinforce dialogue efforts, the previously established peace committee has been reactivated to seek a lasting resolution to the conflict.
