Trump made the announcement on Thursday during a 9/11 memorial ceremony held at the Pentagon, where he began his speech by paying tribute to Kirk’s impact and tragic death.
“Before anything else, let me speak to the pain and sorrow Americans feel over the brutal killing of Charlie Kirk,” Trump said.

“Charlie was a towering figure in his generation a true defender of freedom and a source of inspiration for millions.”
Trump said the prestigious civilian award will be presented to Kirk at a future date, which will be disclosed soon.
“The event will be announced later,” he said. “But what I can assure you is that it will attract a massive crowd.”
Charlie Kirk, aged 31, was known for his strong influence in U.S. conservative politics.
He co-founded Turning Point USA, an organisation focused on engaging college students with right-leaning ideals.
Over the years, he became a key ally of Donald Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr., and Vice President JD Vance.
Kirk played a significant role in helping Trump build support among younger voters during the 2024 election campaign.
His death has sent shockwaves across the conservative political space and the wider American political scene.
It comes amid growing concerns about politically motivated violence in the U.S. this year.
