In a game played late Wednesday night, two goals from Kai Haverts and Ben Davies(own goal), was all that was needed for Chelsea to win their Semi-final tie against their London neighbours.
However, despite Chelsea going into the halftime break with a two goals lead, they found scoring goals in the second half of the tie difficult, despite the return of their summer signing, Romelu Lukaku to the team, who got nothing but praises from his coach, after the game ended.
“I am happy with the performance, I liked how he played. He was strong, involved, strong and showed huge commitment in our defensive work which was important. He was always dangerous and used his body, was always involved in dangerous situations.” Tuchel said about Lukaku after he played a huge part of Chelsea’s victory on the night
Chelsea will now have to wait to find out who they are to play in the final of the Carabao Cup, as Arsenal battles Liverpool on Thursday night, for the other final spot.
The final is to be played at the Wembley stadium, early this year.
