Juventus and Manchester City have secured their places in the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States after recording commanding victories in their second Group G matches on Sunday.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Juventus continued their impressive run with a dominant 4-1 victory over Moroccan side Wydad AC. Rising star Kenan Yildiz stole the show for the Italian side, scoring twice and playing a key role in forcing an own goal that sealed the emphatic win.
The Serie A giants had earlier kicked off their campaign with a resounding 5-0 win against Al Ain, putting them in firm control of the group. With six points from two matches, Juventus have now comfortably advanced to the knockout phase.
Manchester City also progressed with style, delivering a 6-0 demolition of Al Ain in their second outing. Ilkay Gündogan led the charge with a brace, while Erling Haaland opened his tournament account. Promising talents Claudio Echeverri, Oscar Bobb, and Rayan Cherki added to the scoreline in a match that saw complete dominance from the Premier League side.
Both Al Ain and Wydad AC have now been eliminated after suffering back-to-back defeats. Al Ain were thrashed 5-0 by Juventus and 6-0 by Manchester City, while Wydad managed just one goal in their 4-1 loss to Juventus, following their 2-0 defeat to City in the opening match.
The two eliminated teams will now battle for pride in their final group match on Thursday.
With these results, Juventus and Manchester City join Bayern Munich and Flamengo as the first four teams to officially qualify for the knockout stage. Meanwhile, seven teams, including Ulsan HD, Auckland City, Los Angeles FC, Pachuca, and Urawa Red Diamonds, have exited the tournament.

This year’s Club World Cup marks a historic expansion, featuring 32 teams for the first time in the competition’s history.
