Commenting on the incident, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, expressed sympathy to the affected family and stressed the importance of enforcing roadworthiness for heavy-duty vehicles.
“Truck operators must adhere strictly to safety protocols. It is non-negotiable that every articulated vehicle undergo thorough mechanical inspection, especially the braking systems, before hitting the road. Preventable tragedies like this must end,” Giwa stated.
He also reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s dedication to upholding road safety regulations, enhancing emergency response systems, and ensuring strict adherence to vehicle inspection protocols.
