President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, which took place over the weekend.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement released on Sunday through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the act as a cowardly attack and expressed deep anguish over the tragic incident.

The statement partly read,” President Bola Tinubu has expressed anguish over the suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, at the weekend.
“The President mourned those who lost their lives, describing the attack as cowardly.”
Tinubu urged security agencies to intensify their efforts in rooting out the remaining elements of the Boko Haram insurgency. He noted that these insurgents, now weakened, have shifted their focus to attacking soft civilian targets, such as the tragic incident in Konduga, Borno State, over the weekend.
“He urged security agencies to double their efforts in routing remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents who resort to attacks on soft targets as a diversionary tactic,” the presidency added.
President Tinubu also extended his condolences to the government and people of Borno State, expressing solidarity with them in the wake of the tragic suicide bombing in Konduga.
“President Tinubu condoled with the government and people of Borno State over the incident and directed the National Emergency Management Agency to support survivors,” Onanuga said.
In a separate development, President Bola Tinubu has also extended his sympathy to the victims of Saturday’s explosion at a scrap metal factory in Kano State.
The tragic incident, which reportedly affected 15 people, has left five confirmed dead, with others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
“Meanwhile, the President has sympathised with the families of those killed or injured by an explosion on Saturday morning in Kano,” the statement added.
Tinubu also stressed the need for safety protocols and accountability, ”and tasked relevant government institutions with investigating the incident.
