Five people were reportedly killed on Monday during a violent confrontation over control of the Naira and Kobo motor garage in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the clash reportedly erupted after an unidentified group allegedly attempted to seize control of the motor park.

Footage obtained by The Peoples Gazette reportedly showed the aftermath of the violence, including the body of an unidentified man with an apparent gunshot wound to the head inside a gold-coloured Sienna vehicle.
Another video reportedly showed a second victim lying dead on the ground.
According to Oshogbo Updates, the reported victims comprised three commercial bus drivers and two passersby. Details surrounding the confrontation remained unclear as of the time of filing the report.
The Osun State Police Command confirmed that a clash occurred and said an investigation had commenced.
The command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, asked for time for investigators to establish what happened, saying the police would provide further information after completing their investigation.
The incident has drawn condemnation from the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance, which described the reported killings as disturbing, particularly coming shortly after the Osun governorship election.
The coalition’s secretary, Olalekan Johnson, said the latest violence was worrying because civil society organisations and the state government had previously warned about the possibility of renewed clashes around motor parks and local government areas.
The group also raised allegations that individuals within the security structure may have facilitated an attempt to take over the motor park, specifically mentioning the Ikire Divisional Police Officer.
However, the coalition stressed that the allegations required immediate and independent investigation rather than being treated as established facts.
Johnson said no police officer should assist political thugs or criminal groups, regardless of their position or political connections.
The coalition called for a transparent investigation into the violence and the conduct of any security personnel accused of facilitating the alleged takeover.
It further urged authorities to hold accountable politicians, financiers of violence, criminal groups and compromised security officers found to have played a role in the incident.
The organisation warned that citizens should not be used as casualties in political disputes and insisted that anyone responsible for the violence must face the law.
Police investigations into the Ikire incident are ongoing.
