According to the charge, Abdulahi was arrested on October 2, 2025, at the ECOWAS border post in Seme, Lagos State, with 50 packets of Tramadol weighing 4.6 kilograms and valued at ₦400,000.
During her arraignment, NDLEA prosecutor, Mr. Chibuzor Ohanyere, presented the facts of the case and tendered exhibits, urging the court to convict the defendant based on the weight of the evidence.

Justice Kala, after reviewing the submissions, found Abdulahi guilty as charged.
In her plea for leniency, defence counsel, Mrs. Vivian Ekwegh, described the convict as a first-time offender who acted out of ignorance, believing that Tramadol was the same as Paracetamol. She also noted that Abdulahi had shown remorse and saved the court’s time by pleading guilty.
In his judgment, Justice Kala sentenced Abdulahi to one year imprisonment with an option of a ₦500,000 fine. He further ordered that she serve 30 days of community service as part of her sentence.
The court emphasised that the ruling should serve as a deterrent to others involved in the unlawful possession and distribution of controlled substances.
