The Akwa Ibom State High Court in Abak has sentenced a police officer, Mrs. Juliet Attah, to three months in prison for defying a court order to return a seized tricycle belonging to Mr. Elijah Akpan.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Justice Eno Isangedighi issued the ruling following a fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by Akpan. Despite multiple court orders, including those on November 18, 2024, and February 24, 2025, directing Attah to return the tricycle, she failed to comply.
Instead, she allegedly attempted to arrest Akpan at his residence.
The judge found Attah guilty of contempt of court and ordered her imprisonment at Ikot Ekpene Custodial Centre.
