COVID-19: NCDC Confirms 255 New Cases In Lagos
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday disclosed that the country has recorded 300 new COVID-19 cases.
The agency made the disclosure in its daily updates and situation reports for November 8.
According to the latest report, 255 new cases were confirmed in Lagos — highest cases of new infections in the state since August 22.
Lagos did not record any new cases on November 7.
The latest development brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 64,090.
26 patients were certified free from the infection and discharged from isolation centres across the country. 59,910 persons hhave now successfully been treated cases in the country.
The federal capital territory (FCT) recorded 27 infections; Oyo, 10; Kaduna, 5; Ondo, 2 and Kano, 1.c
The public health agency said that no new COVID-19 deaths were reported during the period as the national death toll remains 1,154 for the fourth consecutive day.
The agency said that it had activated a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), at Level III, to coordinate the national response activities in the country.
