Speaking at a caucus meeting in Fagge Local Government Area on Saturday, Atta cautioned the APC National Chairman, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, against endorsing Abbas for a fourth term. He stressed that any attempt to retain Abbas would lead to mass defections and jeopardize the party’s chances in the 2027 election.

“We will not accept the imposition of Abdullahi Abbas for a fourth term. If this happens, we will immediately decamp from the party, and APC will collapse in Kano,” Atta declared.
He blamed Abbas for the party’s struggles in the 2023 elections, citing his “arrogance and misguided disposition” as key reasons for APC’s loss of power in the state.
Atta also accused Abbas of making statements that alienated voters, ultimately costing the party the governorship election despite its candidates, Gawuna and Sule Garo, winning at the polls.
