EKO HOT BLOG reports that Damagum issued the warning on Thursday in Abuja during a meeting with the Forum of State PDP Chairmen, who visited to reaffirm their support for his leadership.
Speaking at the event, Damagum urged members he described as being used by the devil to desist from acts of betrayal and return to the path of loyalty and unity.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on our colleagues that the devil is using, to see wisdom in casting the devil in them because treachery, especially to an institution that has made you what you are today, will not heal,” he said. “You may be lucky now, but there is the law of karma. What goes around comes around.”
Damagum dismissed claims that the PDP was in decline, insisting that the opposition party remains strong and relevant in Nigeria’s political space. “People say the PDP is dead, yet every discussion in Nigeria today revolves around the PDP. You can’t talk about what doesn’t exist,” he said, adding that the party “remains a vehicle capable of navigating Nigeria through its challenges.”
He also called on Nigerians not to be intimidated by political oppression, stressing that every citizen has a right to aspire and express themselves within the bounds of the law.
Earlier, the Forum of PDP State Chairmen pledged total support for the Damagum-led National Working Committee. In a communiqué signed by its Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, and Secretary, Edward Marsha, the Forum commended the collaboration among the NWC, PDP Governors’ Forum, and Board of Trustees, describing it as key to stabilising the party.
The chairmen also urged discipline across state chapters, calling for sanctions against members whose actions undermine party unity.

The PDP crisis deepened last week following the suspension of National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu and two other NWC members, who later announced Damagum’s suspension in retaliation. The Wike-backed faction subsequently named Abdulrahman Mohammed as Acting National Chairman, a move Damagum’s camp described as illegal. Both factions now claim leadership as the party prepares for its November convention in Ibadan.
