Edwin Devakumar, head of the Dangote Oil Refinery, announced on Monday that Africa’s largest refinery is expected to operate at full capacity within 30 days.

After initially facing challenges in securing sufficient local crude supplies, the refinery turned to imports. Now, with operations reaching 85% capacity, Devakumar stated, “We can go 100 percent in 30 days.”
To meet the refinery’s needs, the Nigerian government has agreed to supply crude in the local naira currency.

For the first half of 2025, the oil regulator has requested 550,000 barrels per day from Nigerian producers, threatening to block export permits for those who fail to meet their supply quotas.
Dangote Oil Refinery is actively exploring new markets for its refined products.
