The Digital Bridge Institute ( DBI), the training arm of the Nigerian Communications Commission, has partnered with Small Business Training Solutions (SBTS) to train 100,000 Nigerian youths in Business Processing Operations.
This initiative aims to position Nigeria as a global leader in outsourcing jobs.

The partnership was announced on Monday in Abuja during a meeting with stakeholders. SBTS also revealed a $200 million Human Capital Bond, which is expected to create 100,000 digital jobs across Nigeria over the next five years.
SBTS CEO, Evelyn Lewis, said the program will provide young Nigerians with comprehensive training and job opportunities in the digital industry. She explained that the initiative is not just about teaching skills but also about economic empowerment, digital inclusion, and improving Africa’s competitiveness in the global market
. She emphasized the importance of equipping people with relevant skills, stating that success in today’s digital world depends on adaptability and proper training.
Lewis highlighted the challenges many African youths face in accessing structured and scalable training programs and said the partnership is designed to bridge this gap. The training will be practical, industry-focused, and aligned with employer needs.
Participants will also have access to internships, outsourcing jobs, and entrepreneurship support to ensure they are ready for the workforce.
President/CEO of DBI, David Daser, said the initiative aligns with DBI’s mission to close the digital skills gap in Nigeria. He noted that DBI has trained thousands of professionals, students, and entrepreneurs over the years and remains committed to advancing digital literacy as a driver of economic growth.
The training will cover areas such as entrepreneurship, digital marketing, software development, cybersecurity, and business management. Participants will also receive mentorship, access to funding opportunities, and business incubation support to help them start their careers or businesses.

DBI’s Head of Media Relations, Akin Ogunlade, urged government agencies, private companies, and the media to support and promote digital skills training as a way to drive national development. He described the partnership as a commitment to fostering sustainable growth through education, training, and skills development.
