Officers from the Special Anti-kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 47-year-old native doctor, Okonji Chimeze, for unlawful possession of firearms.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Chimeze was taken into custody at his home in Umuehe Quarters, located in the Ibusa community of Oshimili North Local Government Area.

Acting on credible intelligence and armed with a valid search warrant, police operatives searched his residence and discovered two automatic pump-action rifles and a cutlass hidden in the ceiling of his room.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, in Asaba yesterday said: “The suspect and the recovered exhibits are currently in custody as investigation is ongoing.”
