According to the statement, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad rescued a victim who was abducted by armed men in Okpanam on June 10.
The police said the rescue operation began after receiving information about the kidnapping on June 11. Acting on intelligence, operatives launched a coordinated operation to track down the victim and apprehend the kidnappers.
As security pressure intensified and intelligence gathering narrowed in on the suspects, the kidnappers reportedly abandoned their victim and fled from their hideout.
The victim was rescued unharmed, debriefed and reunited with family members, while efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects.
In a separate operation, officers attached to the Distress Response Patrol Team arrested three suspected armed robbers in Asaba and recovered a locally fabricated Beretta pistol.

The suspects were intercepted while travelling in a tricycle during a routine patrol on June 12. A search conducted on them led to the recovery of the firearm.
The suspects were identified as Ewendeze De-Grace, 19, Eruweghene Amede, 20, and Chukwuemeka Arinze, 21.
Preliminary investigations reportedly linked the trio to the Aro Bagger Confraternity, while further investigations are ongoing.
The Command also recorded another breakthrough in its fight against drug-related crimes with the arrest of a 45-year-old woman, Ananyi Vivian, during a raid on a suspected drug distribution centre in Kwale.
Police operatives attached to the Kwale Division carried out the operation on June 10 following credible intelligence. Two male suspects reportedly fled upon sighting the officers, while Vivian was arrested at the scene.
Investigations revealed that the location was allegedly being used for illegal drug activities. During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted being aware of the activities taking place at the premises.
The police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and dismantle the wider drug network.
Reacting to the successes, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the officers involved for their professionalism, vigilance and dedication to duty.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling all forms of criminality and urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information.
