Position Summary:

EKO HOT BLOG reports that NewGlobe seeks a Digital Journalist who will act as a frontline storyteller, content creator, and visibility strategist. The role requires someone embedded within a government education programme to document, amplify, and drive awareness of the progress and impact of public school transformation across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Field Reporting (50%):

Visit schools, communities, and government offices to gather stories.
Capture photos, videos, and interviews with teachers, students, parents, and officials.
Create content that reflects local realities and programme goals.

🔹 Content Creation & Execution:

Build and implement a content strategy tailored for the JigawaUNITE programme.
Manage digital platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok.
Develop content calendars, campaign strategies, and messaging in line with global and local priorities.

🔹 Engagement & Distribution:

Drive viral storytelling, leveraging emotion, creativity, and community voices.
Use WhatsApp and social media to engage government stakeholders and local influencers.
Track and report on digital performance, engagement, and reach.

🔹 Collaboration & Strategy:

Work closely with local programme leaders to align content with milestones.
Participate in weekly planning and sync meetings.
Continuously evaluate and refine content based on feedback and metrics.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital storytelling, content creation, or social media management.
Strong writing and editing skills with proven storytelling experience.
Proficiency in digital tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.
Familiarity with social platforms and WhatsApp as a communication tool.
