Direct Flights to UAE Available as Emirates Airlines Resumes Operations in Nigeria
A statement from Mr. Tunde Moshood, Special Assistant on Media and Communications to Keyamo, highlighted that the minister led a delegation to the UAE to finalise the negotiations for Emirates’ return.
This meeting laid the groundwork for a new Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) between the two nations.
The statement read: “The Honourable Minister, accompanied by his technical team, engaged in constructive discussions with UAE aviation authorities to facilitate the smooth reintroduction of Emirates Airlines into Nigerian airspace next Tuesday.

The new BASA, a key topic of discussion, aims to enhance collaboration and establish guidelines for the evolving relationship between the two countries in the aviation sector.
“Importantly, the negotiations resulted in a landmark agreement on reciprocal rights, ensuring Nigerian airlines will soon have the opportunity to begin direct flights to the UAE.
This development is significant for Nigeria’s aviation industry, as it expands international connectivity and provides more travel options between the two nations.
“Commenting on the meeting’s outcome, Festus Keyamo stated: ‘Today’s discussions reaffirm our commitment to fostering a balanced and progressive partnership with the UAE.
