Dr. Alausa Lauds TETFUND Intervention at FCE(T) Yaba
- He said in line with the President’s directive for the 2025 budget, TETFUND will prioritize enhancing student hostels, lecture theaters, auditoriums, laboratories, engineering workshops, and faculty offices.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Moruf Olatunji Alausa has commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) intervention for its significant contributions to the Federal College of Education(Technical) Yaba.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Alausa during a recent quality assurance visitation to various educational institutes in Lagos made known that upon observing the infrastructure developments made possible by TETFUND, nearly 70% of the buildings at the college were a result of the intervention funds efforts.

The Minister praised President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its focus on improving the infrastructure of tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
He said in line with the President’s directive for the 2025 budget, the allocation for TETFUND will prioritize enhancing student hostels, lecture theaters, auditoriums, laboratories, engineering workshops, and faculty offices.
According to the Minister, he noted that the President has instructed that no new construction should take place at existing tertiary institutions, with the exception of newly licensed universities.
Dr. Alausa acknowledged that there are misconceptions surrounding TETFUND’s impact on the country’s educational sector, however, he firmly believes that TETFUND has played a critical role in shaping and improving education across Nigeria.
He noted that through its numerous interventions, TETFUND has contributed significantly to the development of infrastructure, academic resources, and research capabilities at various tertiary institution.
Dr. Alausa expressed delight with the progress observed in technical and vocational education during the visitation, while praising the advancements seen in various workshops, such as woodwork, welding, and fine arts, as well as other areas of the institution.
The Minister stated that the college has effectively upheld its founding mission and emphasized the importance of technical and vocational education in providing sustainable life skills for Nigeria’s youth.
He acknowledged that the focus aligns with President Tinubu’s mandate to empower young men and women with skills that benefit not only themselves but also their communities, the country, and the world at large.
To further support the growth of technical education in Nigeria, Alausa called upon private individuals to invest in the sector, particularly in the technical aspects.
He encouraged partnerships that promote local production and marketing of goods, with the goal of reducing the nation’s reliance on imports.
