The expatriates told police officers at the Tarkwa-Bay Division that the driver had conveyed them to the beach for relaxation before tragedy struck.
They said all efforts to rescue him were unsuccessful as the waves pulled him out of sight within moments.
“All efforts to recover his body proved abortive,” a police source said.
Detectives from Tarkwa-Bay Police Division later visited the scene, launching a search operation to retrieve the victim’s body.
As of the time of reporting, Kingsley’s full identity was yet to be confirmed, with only his first name known.

Authorities said the situation remains under active investigation.
Locals and divers in the area were alerted and joined in the recovery effort.
Sources said Kingsley had been working with the Indian expatriates for some time before the incident.
The Indian nationals have remained at the beach station to provide further details to investigators.
Police confirmed no foul play has been established so far, calling it a tragic case of drowning.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) was also notified of the incident.
