According to the agency, the newly introduced unit will operate round the clock, focusing on preventing crimes before they occur and responding swiftly to threats to public safety.
Chairman of the Task Force, Adetayo Akerele, said the initiative became necessary to address the activities of criminal elements posing risks to residents and visitors.
He explained that the patrol team will serve as a rapid response unit, targeting offences such as drug peddling, street violence, activities of area boys, raids on criminal hideouts, environmental violations, and “one-chance” robbery syndicates.

Akerele added that the agency will intensify surveillance and enforcement operations across identified hotspots, stressing that there will be no room for criminal activity in the state.
“We will spare no effort to eliminate criminal activities. Those involved will either stop or leave Lagos,” he said.
The Task Force also urged residents to support security efforts by providing timely and credible information, reaffirming its commitment to protecting lives and maintaining order across the state.
