  • The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a former governor and his wife over alleged misappropriation of funds.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a former Governor of Nasarawa State and serving senator, Tanko Al-Makura, and his wife, Mairo Al-Makura, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.

Sources at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja disclosed that the former governor and his wife were arrested by the anti-graft agency after they honoured the invitation extended to them.

It was gathered that the duo were detained by the EFCC operatives when the commission demanded some explanations from them about the finances of the state but they were unable to answer.

One of the sources, however, said he could not say the amount of money but he knew the former governor and his wife were being grilled by the EFCC for misappropriation of funds.
