EKO HOT BLOG reports that he arrived at the court premises around 9:30 a.m. and was accompanied by officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, alongside operatives of the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force.
The case filed by the ICPC borders on allegations of abuse of office, fraud, and financial misconduct during his tenure as governor. Prosecutors allege that public funds were released for projects that were either not executed or were irregularly handled.
El-Rufai has consistently denied all charges, maintaining his innocence before the court.
At Monday’s sitting, the Federal High Court is expected to continue hearing motions and legal arguments from both the prosecution and defence as proceedings advance.
The matter remains ongoing.
